　　【考點3】Dating back to the Qin Dynasty (221—207BC),

　　the traditional crosstalk shows, or xiangsheng shows,

　　have made people all over China roar with laughter for

　　centuries. 傳統(tǒng)的相聲表演可以追溯到秦朝(公元前

　　221—207年)，已經(jīng)使中國人笑了千百年了。

　　該句中的“dating back to...”在句中作定語，相當于定語

　　從句which dated back to或which dated from。

　　v-ing在句中可以作定語。注意它們在句子中與所修飾

　　的名詞的邏輯關系。如果表示主動關系，用v-ing；表示

　　被動關系，則用being done。例如：

　　Do you see the girl dancing with your brother? (定語)

　　你看到那個正在與你弟弟跳舞的姑娘了嗎?

　　The building being built now is our lab. (定語)正在修

　　建的大樓是我們的實驗室。

　　【考例3】(2000上海)Will those ____ the children

　　from abroad come the headmaster's office?

　　    A. teaching    B. teach

　　    C. who teaches    D. who teaching

　　[考查目標]v-ing作定語。

　　[答案與解析]A   根據(jù)以上解釋，用非謂語動詞。teach

　　與those關系是主動關系，所以用teaching。

　　【考點4】It's their clothes, makeup and the way they talk

　　that makes people. 逗人笑的是他們的衣著，裝扮和走

　　路的姿勢。

　　該句中的 they talk 作 the way 的定語從句。

　　the way充當先行詞時，一定要注意“顧后”，即the way

　　在定語從句中所作的成分。如果 way 是作賓語或表

　　語，關系詞要用that或which；如果way作狀語，關系詞

　　要用that，in which或不填。例如：

　　This is the only way that you can find. 這是你能找到

　　的惟一的方法。

　　She is fond of the way the famous Japanese actor

　　smokes. 她喜歡那位日本男影星抽煙的姿勢。

　　I don't like the way that (in which) he speaks to his

　　mother. 我不喜歡他對他媽媽說話的方式。

　　【考例4】(2004湖北) What surprised me was not what

　　hc said but ____ he said it.

　　[考查目標]定語從句與并列連詞“not...but...”。

　　[答案與解析]A  not…but…連接兩個表語成分；the

　　way引導定語從句，而且在從句中作狀語，選theway。
